1. The website
“Notify me” signups
When you enter your email in a “Notify me” form, we save:
- your email address,
- the date and time you signed up,
- which form on the page you used, and
- the country your request came from, as reported by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address with your signup.
We use this only to email you when Diamond DJ launches. We don't add you to other lists or share your address with anyone. Signups are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the site.
Hosting and logs
Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) processes basic request information such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare may keep short-lived logs of these requests.
Fonts
The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
2. The app
Stored only on your device
Everything you build in Diamond DJ is saved on your phone or tablet: your boards and categories, batting orders, player names and jersey numbers, the songs and sound files you import, your trims and fades, your recorded announcements and your theme. We can't see any of it unless you choose to back it up as described below.
Permissions
- Microphone: used only while you record a voice-over announcement. Recordings are saved on your device.
- Music and audio files: used only to let you pick songs and sounds to import.
- Internet: used for optional sign-in and backups, and the install record below. Playing music never needs a connection.
Install record
To recognize early users of the app, Diamond DJ creates an anonymous Firebase account in the background and stores a small record for each installation: a random install ID, the platform (Android or iOS), the app version, when the app was first installed and last opened, and the store it was installed from. It contains no name, email, contacts, location or content from your boards.
Google sign-in (optional)
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and a Google account ID through Firebase Authentication, a Google service. We use these to identify your account and your backups.
Diamond DJ Cloud backup (optional)
When you're signed in, the app saves a copy of your setup to our Firebase database so you can restore it on another device. This includes your board, category and sound names, player names, jersey numbers, trim, fade and volume settings, play counts, your theme, your team logo and the app version, together with your name and email. It does not include song or voice-over audio files.
Google Drive backup (optional)
If you connect Google Drive, a full backup including audio is encrypted on your device and uploaded to your own Google Drive. The app asks only for access to files it creates itself; it cannot see or change the rest of your Drive. These backups are not copied to us. You can disconnect at any time from the app or from your Google Account settings.
3. Players and children
Diamond DJ is made for coaches, team parents and other adults who run music at games. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Lineups often include players who are minors. Player names and jersey numbers you type in stay on your device unless you turn on a backup. If you'd rather not store full names, nicknames or first names work just as well. If you're a parent and want a player's information removed from a backup, contact us and we'll delete it.
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use these service providers to run Diamond DJ, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores “Notify me” signups.
- Google provides Firebase Authentication and the Firebase database for the app, Google Drive for Drive backups, and Google Fonts for the website.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
5. How long we keep it
- Signups: until we've sent the launch announcement and no longer need it, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Diamond DJ Cloud backup: until you delete it, or ask us to.
- Install records: for as long as we need them to recognize early users, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Drive backups: they're in your Drive, so you decide.
6. Your choices and rights
- Leave the signup list: reply to any email from us, or contact us.
- Delete your cloud backup: in the app, open Settings and use Reset. This erases your data on the device and your Diamond DJ Cloud backup, then signs you out.
- Delete everything: contact us and we'll remove your account, backups and install records.
- Remove data from your device: uninstall the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Cloud backups are protected so that only your signed-in account can read or change them, and Drive backups are encrypted before upload. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and collect as little as we can.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
